National RR-FCF Rendezvous a Great Success!
We are getting back into the swing of things after an outstanding National FCF Rendezvous. We enjoyed perfect weather and unforgettable times in the Lord’s presence. Rendezvous was fantastic! Click on the Rendezvous button to view the photo gallery.
I want to salute Steve Schultz for skillfully coordinating the logistics and directing the tireless efforts of the selfless and numerous volunteers who served us all so well. Thanks also to Jim Rounsville, our National FCF President, and his entire team, for their leadership. Together their efforts made the Rendezvous an experience of a lifetime. We are already looking forward to the Territorial Rendezvous that will be coming in the next couple of years between now and our 50th Anniversary Camporama celebration in 2012.
We are Advancing
For the better part of 2007, after stepping into the position of national commander, the national team and I assumed a listening mode. We then presented the direction we discerned the Lord was leading at the March 2008 National Council. The enthusiastic response was overwhelming. Following that, I approached you via our national website and asked you to download and read the “Seek and Save” articles and provide feedback. Again, the response was very positive. Yes, some concerns have been expressed, and those are being looked at closely so we can sharpen and improve our plans. But the response to the direction we are moving has been overwhelmingly positive. Let me thank you for the input and your faith. We at the national office are always open to your contribution. Together we will “influence more boys and young men than ever, more effectively than ever.”
As we move from this point forward here is what we need…we need your prayers! We have listened, we have consulted, we have dreamed, and we have prayed. Now we are buckling down to deliver on the plan. Here is where the enemy will try to halt us! Already one of our key staff members has been dealt a huge health challenge. But we intend to stand with him and his family in prayer and we intend to come together as teams do –linking arms with one another, with men in the field able and willing to help us, and with the members of our national headquarters family– to deliver.
The enemy may be OK with us “talking” about reaching and influencing more boys and young men than ever, more effectively than ever, but he would seek to derail us on the follow-through. The most important role you can play now is that of intercessor.
When we work, we work; but when we pray, God works. So would you include us in your prayers daily?
The best days of Rangers ministry together are ahead!
Facebook
The national Royal Rangers ministry now has a presence on Facebook, a social networking site on the web. This is a great way to connect with middle school, high school, and adult Ranger friends all across the nation. Signing up for Facebook is free and fun. Log in, look us up, and become a fan. Some members of the national team and I are also on Facebook and would love to have you as one of our friends.
Doug Marsh
National Director
