“Everywhere” is the Assemblies of God U. S. Missions theme for 2007-2008 and is a word U. S. MAPS RV volunteers understand very well. Each year hundreds of people, mostly retirees, from a wide variety of vocational and professional backgrounds volunteer their time, skills, and resources on construction projects all across the United States. More than 1,400 RV volunteers serve Teen Challenge centers; district camp facilities; children’s homes; and Assemblies of God churches, colleges, and universities. Last year RV volunteers logged in excess of 103,000 man-hours, completing 67 construction projects. As a result of the RV volunteers’ efforts, the savings in construction costs alone were in the millions of dollars.
From coast to coast and border to border, RV volunteers are answering the call for help, utilizing their God-given skills and talents to help build the kingdom of God. Some give a few weeks, some a few months, and some full time; but all are passionate about serving.
U. S. MAPS is not about 1,400 members or 100,000 hours or saving millions of dollars. U. S. MAPS is about Missions, America, People, Serving.
