Senders Fund - Spring 2007

“Today our missionaries live and work in 200 countries of the world.  People are coming to Christ and joining Assemblies of God churches worldwide at a rate of about 10,000 per day.  The harvest is multiplying more than ever.”

Randy Hurst is the Director of Communications of Assemblies of God World Missions.  As a member of the World Missions Executive Committee, he has been involved in the interview process of more than 650 new missionaries in the last 9 years.  He states, “The Executive Committee believes the highest priority for our missions dollars is to rush these divinely called missionaries to the harvest field where the lost are waiting!”

He goes on to say, “Our single most vital project is Senders Fund.  Since the introduction of Senders Fund, the average itineration time has decreased from 22 months to a low of just 13 months.  That’s nine months missionaries would be preaching the gospel, planting churches, training national ministers, and touching poor and suffering people with the compassion of Christ that otherwise would be spent in the United States raising their budget.”

Unfortunately, in the last three years, the average itineration time of missionaries has continued to rise again by several months.  Our missionaries urgently need extra help!

In the next issue of PrimeLine, we will tell you how you can be involved in rushing new missionaries to their fields of service by giving to Senders Fund.  I believe it especially appropriate for those of us who have run most of life’s race to help empower a new generation in service of our Lord.  They will go—we can help send them.
