Little Things

A high school teacher, speaking to her class, said, “Each of us was put here on earth to learn, share, love, appreciate and give of ourselves.  I would like for you to make me a promise.  From now on, on your way to school, or on your way home, find something beautiful to notice.  It doesn’t have to be something you see, it could be a scent, or the sound of the breeze rustling leaves in the trees, or the way the light catches a leaf as it falls to the ground…please look for these things…cherish them.  The little things are put here on earth to enjoy.  We must make it important to notice them, for at anytime it can call be taken away.  As we get older, it is not the things we did that we often regret, but the things we didn’t do.”

Some of the beautiful things you take time to see, hear or touch may leave a memory with you for the rest of YOUR life.

Some of the beautiful things you do, like a smile, some words of comfort or encouragement, a pat on the back, a warm handshake, a hug or kiss, may leave a memory in someone else for the rest of THEIR life.

Little Things

It’s the little things we do and say
That means so much as we go our way.
A kindly deed can lift a load
From weary shoulders on the road,
Or a gentle word, like summer rain,
May soothe a heart and banish pain.
What joy or sadness often springs
From just the simple little things.
