New Clarinet Album CD Dedicated to Aged Ministers
Assistance

Paul Aaron
|
Paul Aaron, a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University
(SAGU) in Waxahachie, Texas, recently recorded a clarinet
gospel album and has dedicated a portion of the sales
to Aged Ministers Assistance. During the CD release concert
at Bethel Temple in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 16,
2002, Paul Aaron presented an AMA check of $1,500 as seed
of future sales to Ada Pickett from the North Texas District
of the Assemblies of God. A plaque was presented to Dr.
Reba and Rev. Ollen Sommerville in honor of her father,
the late Rev. W.F. Mercer.
Pauls heart is to honor all those who have gone before us in ministry. He mentions that W.F. Mercer, a former board of regents member of SAGU and pastor in North Texas for many years, was a catalyst who inspired him to honor aged ministers with his first album.
Aaron remembers: "W.F. Mercer, who was stooped over with age, told me one day as he walked gripping his cane, If I just had a few more years Id preach if I had the chance."

Left to Right: Paul Aaron, Ada Pickett, Dr.
Reba Sommerville and Rev. Ollen Sommerville.

Aaron continues: "It is these pioneers that persevered at
any cost and laid bare their lives for the Lord and to the ministry
of the body of Christ. I choose to honor them with my music ...
to lift up the song they know that helped through
trials and victories alike. We should never forget their sacrifice
and hold fast to the faith that carried them through."
Songs on the album include: How Great Thou Art, Shout to the Lord, My Jesus I Love Thee, Camp Meeting Medley, The Star Spangled Banner, and many more.
