Bob Cook
G. Robert (Bob) Cook, Jr. serves as the executive vice president of The Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education. He has been affiliated with the Assemblies of God as an ordained minister since 1975.
Prior to beginning his post at the national offices on March 31, 2008, he served as District Superintendent for the 156 churches and 500+ credentialed ministers of the AG churches of the Rocky Mountain District for nine years. He has pastored churches in Provo, Utah, and Boulder, Colorado, and also served for seven years on the faculty and administration of Bethany University. Other ministry experiences include youth pastorates and a six-year stint as the Youth and Christian Education Director for the Rocky Mountain District.
Bob earned a bachelor’s degree from Bethany Bible College in 1972, a master’s degree from Denver Seminary in 1986, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Pentecostal Leadership from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in 2004.
He has been married to his wife, Sherilyn, since 1970. They have three adult children who are all married and have given the Cooks seven irresistible and extremely talented grandchildren.
Besides endeavoring to follow the Lord Jesus and to obey the call upon his life, Bob also loves to read, play golf and racquetball, mow his lawn, work crossword puzzles, and cheer on his beloved Broncos, Rockies, Avs, Nuggets, and Colorado Buffaloes.
Dave Moore
David Moore serves as assistant vice president for institutional relations for The Alliance for AG Higher Education. Prior to this, Moore served at Convoy of Hope, an independent faith-based humanitarian aid organization, for 7 years. During most of his tenure, he was Sr. Director of Administration. From 1994-2001, he was Director of Intercultural Ministries and Administrator for U. S. Missions at AG Headquarters.
Moore was a missionary/educator to American Indians at American Indian College in Phoenix, Arizona, for 20 years, having served as president from 1987-1994. Moore led AIC through the accreditation process with the North Central Accrediting Association, and it became the only regionally accredited college serving primarily Native Americans in the nation. He has also taught adjunct courses in anthropology and cross-cultural communications at Evangel University since 1997.
Moore completed his undergraduate work at Evangel University in Springfield, MO, in 1972 and holds a master’s degree in cross-cultural communications from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, MO. Moore completed course work for his PhD in Higher Education Administration at the University of Arizona where he is ABD.
Moore and his wife, Cheri, have three grown children. Rachael and her husband Darin serve on the faculty at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. Ryan and his wife Alyson reside in Springfield, Missouri, where Ryan works as Coordinator for Young Adult Ministries for the Assemblies of God. Royce and his wife Melanie reside in Columbia, Missouri, where Royce is in his third year of medical school and Melanie teaches.
Marilyn Abplanalp
Marilyn Abplanalp serves as the assistant vice president of faculty and student relations for The Alliance for Assemblies of God Higher Education.
Prior to beginning her post at the National Offices on June 30, 2008, she served for 18 years at Bethany University in Scotts Valley, California – most recently as the associate dean for the School of Professional Studies and the Director of the master of arts in education. Before her stint at Bethany, Marilyn worked with her husband, Bob, as he pastored churches in Lovelock, Nevada and Fontana, California. Other ministries for Bob and Marilyn include working as youth pastors and acting with a street drama troupe – Resurrection Theatre.
Marilyn earned a bachelor’s degree from Bethany Bible College in 1972, which included a teaching credential for the State of California, a master’s degree from Santa Clara University in 1995 and an Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco in 2000.
She has been married to Bob since 1971, and they have 2 married daughters, Alethea and Hillary who have given them five astonishing grandchildren: Emma, Clara, Jackson, HollyMay and Hope.
