Children's and Youth Pastor Walk for Missionaries

On Sunday, November 2, the children's pastor and youth pastor from Glad Tidings Church in Lake Charles, Louisiana, began a 200-mile trek to raise missions awareness and dollars.
Darrell Bourgeois, the children's pastor for Glad Tidings Church, said he had approached the church staff about his plan and was quickly joined by Greg Fain, the youth pastor. Darrell will be raising money for BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) and Greg for STL (Speed The Light).
"We're calling the walk www.4missionaries.com, and people can go to the site for more facts about the walk," says Darrell. "The concept behind the Web site is ‘We Will Walk 4 Missionaries.'"
Darrell and Greg started their hike at Glad Tidings Church, headed for the Louisiana District Office in Alexandria. "Our district CE and youth directors will join us for part of the walk to the district office this Thursday, says Darrell. "Once we arrive in Alexandria, Greg and I will head back to Lake Charles. Our plan is to arrive back home on November 8. We don't know how far we'll get, but the plan is to walk seven days."
All proceeds from this fund-raiser will benefit missions work around the world, where missionaries are reaching children and teens everyday. For further information on how to help Darrell and Greg with their cause, go to www.4missionaries.com.
