One Boy Earns More Than $3000 for BGMC
Nine-year-old Connor McGrath from Springfield, Missouri earned $1,500.83 for BGMC during 2001. Connor attends James River Assembly of God in Ozark, Missouri. Connor's children's pastor is Jay Risner. Jay decided to go up on a billboard to raise money for BGMC.
Connor was touched by all the stories of kids around the world who have so little and who need Jesus. He was challenged to do something for missions and for BGMC. He went door to door in his neighborhood and asked people to make pledges to BGMC.
Connor got over 21 pledges and raised $1,500.83 for missions. Way to go Connor! Connor was bold enough to share with each person what he was doing, who it was for, and what church he attended.
Connor's mom said he has always had a heart for missions. It started when he was very young. Connor also sacrificed to help raise the money. He raked the lawn, gave up his allowance, and even gave up his "tooth fairy" money.
Connor was also honored at the National BGMC Banquet in February 2002. He was given a plaque and a special gift from BGMC.
