The God and Me Student Workbook

Besides the patches that they earned on the Advancement Trail, Ranger Kids can earn additional patches and awards that will enhance their Royal Rangers experience and help shape them physically, spritually, mentally and socially into the boys that God wants them to be.

There are three types of additional awards that Ranger Kids can earn:

The God and Me Medal

God and Me
The God and Country program offers another award that Royal Rangers can earn besides those in Ranger Kids. The first step in the God and Country program is the God and Me Award. The boy learns the story of his life and Jesus' life. He learns how God puts the two stories together. When the God and Me Student Workbook has been completed, the boy will receive a medal.

The God and Country program is used by many organizations, such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and CampFire Boys and Girls. Is was put together by the National Commission for Church and Youth Agency Relationships. It offers other awards as the boy gets older. Click here for more information on the God and Me Award, including ordering information.

Achievement Awards
There are 48 Achievement patches that can be earned. The commander will help the Ranger Kids earn some of them at the Ranger meetings, but there are many more that he can earn at home, school or on trips with family or the Rangers group.

Chapter 3 of the Ranger Kids Handbook will give you all the details on the Achievement Awards and what the boy will need to do to earn them. Like the Advancement Trail, each Achievement Award has a physical, spiritual, mental, and social component in its requirements.

Commander's Choice Awards
The Commander's Choice awards can be given for events not covered in the Achievement Awards. The Commander's Choice awards may be earned for doing ministry, home, or community activities. The guide for earning these awards is:

Physical: The Ranger does some physical labor or activity promoting an event or learning more about it.

Spiritual: The Ranger learns a spiritual lesson. This may happen through prayer, reading or memorizing a Scripture passage, or going to church.

Mental: The Ranger does a mental activity. He can tell about something he did, show how to do something, or discuss something.

Social: The Ranger takes part with others his age or with adults in developing social skills, such as speaking in front of a group or working on a project with others.
