Healthy Aging

By Irene R. Bovee

I’ve always heard that laughter is good medicine. I believe this is true because it causes our body to relax; consequently, all the body functions are able to perform more smoothly.

Along with that is how we think. I believe our attitude plays a very important part in living a peaceful, healthy life.

  • First of all, we should always count our blessings. A thankful heart is a wonderful healing to the body and soul.
  • Second, we should have faith in God. Our faith in God helps us to see things more clearly and gives us confidence to trust in a supreme being to guide us.
  • Third, we should love one another and show kindness. Give love and our lives will flow. No more hurt or bitter feelings to harm our spirit.
  • Fourth, we should practice patience, which helps us slow down and gives our weary body rest.

I believe how we handle our thoughts and attitudes is just as important to healthy aging as what we eat and how we exercise.
