Adopt A Pet

We are told by experts that having a pet can help reduce elevated blood pressure and assist in driving away the blues.

These reasons seem to suggest that nearly everyone needs a pet of some sort. People who live alone may find a pet to be good company.

If you decide to adopt a pet, consider the following:

Purchase a pet from a reputable company or check out the local animal shelter.

Try to match the dog's personality to yours. You need to be compatible.

The cost of feeding a small dog is less than a large one.

Cats are extremely clean animals.

Be able to spend some time each day grooming your pet, if needed.

If you do not want a dog or cat, consider a bird or fish. The initial cost may include a cage or aquarium; otherwise, the cost should be minimal.

If you have a dog, take him for a walk each day and enjoy the exercise with him.

Some birds can be trained to talk. It requires time and repetition, but the results are worth the effort.

Pets love you unconditionally. Share your love and time with them and reap the benefits.

Oh yeah, grandkids love animals.

If you do not enjoy the presence of animals, don't feel guilty. We are unique in our likes and dislikes. Regardless of your age, the key is to enjoy life to the fullest.
