Grandma Mac – She’s Loving Them

The Granny Brigade returned to South Africa in May 2007.  At JFK Airport for my flight to South Africa, I remembered the words God whispered in my ear just a few short years ago – “A vision without action is just a dream!”  In South Africa we traveled to schools in the city of Mokopane, to share our testimonies, dramas and the plan of salvation.  As each child received the Book of Hope, a Hope Bracelet was placed on each child by grandmothers who lovingly looked into their eyes and told them, “Jesus loves you.”  To personally give God’s powerful Word to children is pure joy!

Prince, the high school soccer coach, followed me to every classroom as I distributed Book of Hope.  When it was time for us to leave, he asked if we would come back to his school.  I told him we couldn’t, because we needed to reach many more students with God’s Word, but that I would see him in Heaven.  He said, “I hope so.”  That was my opening to tell him that the Bible says, “These things have I written that you may know you have eternal life.”  I told him he must read the book and do exactly what it says.  He promised me he would.

At Lighthouse Children’s Shelter, the Grannies loved and rocked many babies.   Matthew 24:14 says, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come”.  We grannies can’t provide for all their needs, but we can all do something! 

Age is not a factor, as Grandma Mac (Miriam) will be 81 in November!
