On-Site Press Registration:The Press Office will open in room S220F at the Orange County Convention Center Tuesday, August 4th. Press registration will be handled through the Press Room, rather than through convention registration. Please bring current press credentials to the Press Office for verification. We stand ready to assist you in every way as you cover the 53rd General Council. The persons listed below will be in the Press Room (room S220F) of the Orange County Convention Center beginning Tuesday, August 4 at 8 a.m. to serve you. If you wish to locate officials of the church for interviews, the press room staff will be happy to work with you to make the arrangements. Feel free to request their help.

Welcome to the 53rd General Council of the Assemblies of God:The General Council is the biennial business meeting of the Assemblies of God, one of the largest Pentecostal groups in the world with nearly 60 million members. This meeting is for the U.S. Assemblies of God, which has nearly 3 million members and adherents.
General Council is held to conduct important church business, elect top church officials, and to assemble ministries and activities of the church.
The 53rd General Council convenes in Orlando, Florida, August 3-7, 2009. Over 30,000 church members are expected to gather at the Orange County Convention Center for activities during the day, then for evening services Tuesday through Friday nights.
We encourage you to explore the many facets of the 53rd General Council including the schedule of events, speakers and services, exhibits, and much more.
