Dear AG News reader,

It's an exciting day here at AG News. For the past several years, we have been looking forward to taking AG News to another level, both in quantity and quality. We are pleased to announce that AG News is joining with the online Pentecostal Evangel to create a new and more prolific online news venue called PE News.

For AG News subscribers, you will now not only receive a weekly PE News newsletter of some of the week's top stories in a new image-enhanced and reader friendly HTML format, you will have the opportunity to go online to the new PE News website and enjoy new stories — and soon, videos — every weekday. Readers will also find stories from PE News being posted regularly to Facebook and Twitter as well as available through an RSS feed.

Another benefit is that in addition to a weekly email newsletter and daily website postings, every Friday a weekly eight-page downloadable PE News will be made available on the PE News website to print out with a suggested use as a bulletin insert.

For our faithful AG News readers, we thank you for your support over the years. If you are already subscribed, there is no need to sign up for PE News as your subscription will be automatically transferred to PE News. For new readers wanting the weekly newsletter, subscribe at

We look forward to serving you and hearing from you as we provide readers with a more enjoyable news-filled experience through PE News.

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a digital media file (usually an audio file but sometimes a video file) which is distributed over the Internet to everyone who has subscribed to that podcast "feed." Think of a podcast as similar to a radio program that is sent to you automatically each week, or however often the podcaster (the podcast author) creates a new episode.

Do I need special hardware?

Nearly every computer comes configured to play audio or video files. You can also load those files onto a portable music players like iPods (from which the term "podcast" is derived). But other portable music players can also be used.

Do I need special software?

Yes. Your best experience with podcasts is found when using an application designed to automatically download and categorize the various podcasts to which you are subscribed. There are several free programs you can use. iTunes is the most commonly used program of this type, Juice is another well known program. Both are available for Macintosh and PC computers.
