Women in Ministry - September/October 2007 Issue

Mentoring:
As Iron Sharpens Iron …
Mentors are invaluable in ministry. It does not matter how smart we are, how old we are, or how many degrees we have, we need mentors to maximize our leadership. Ask people you admire how they got to where they are today, and chances are, “having a mentor” will be included in their response.
But let’s face it – the many demands on our time mean that mentoring is not always at the top of the priority list as women in ministry. If we are not intentional about developing mentoring relationships, they usually will not happen.
Are you ready to seek out a godly woman and allow her to speak into your life? Are you willing to pour your wisdom and experience into another who is eager to learn? Because of the many benefits of mentoring relationships, we have dedicated this issue to equipping you to pursue a mentor, become a mentor, or explore some mentoring styles. We pray that you will be challenged to go ahead and take that first step into a mentoring relationship.
