Jen Mickelson
Chi Alpha Missionary
Jen became an Alaskan at the age of 7 when she moved with her parents to Fairbanks. In pursuit of being a great basketball player, Jen attended a Christian basketball camp where she decided — after hearing an exceptional college basketball player give his testimony — that Jesus would help her become a basketball star. As it turns out, God had a different plan for her life.
Returning from camp, God called Jen to total commitment, which ultimately led her to major in ministry at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington. Jen returned to Alaska where she has faithfully served for the last 19 years, including 9½ years as the district youth director. Now she begins a new journey of ministry to the college and university students as Alaska's first Chi Alpha missionary.
Jen desires to train and mentor students so they will reproduce their faith DNA in the lives of their friends, on their campus, in their workplace, and around the world. Jen's call is to follow a specific generation on their journey with Jesus. She will now guide through college as a Chi Alpha missionary the generation of young people she once pastored as the district youth director.
