On behalf of the staff and members, I welcome you to First Assembly of God in Gastonia, NC. Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (Luke 4:18-19). This was Jesus' mission. Jesus later gave the great commission to the church telling them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (Mark 16:15). This is also my vision for First Assembly. We are to be a lighthouse in this community by preaching the gospel, ministering to the brokenhearted, and administering the gospel of Christ that will set the captive free and heal those in need.
